Happy Geeky Writer and other stories

On account of today being our fourth wedding anniversary, this post is mostly going to be pictures.

First, so Maia gets her due representation:

Second, look what Carrie-Ann gave me!!!:

A Jane Austen action figure!
Complete with writing desk and a tiny brown Pride & Prejudice.
I couldn't stop grinning when I pulled it out of the box.
Thanks, Carrie-Ann!

Third, keeping a growing pumpkin from ripping itself right off the vine, or the vine off the fence:

Fourth, dahlias.

Fifth, I suspect Charles Darwin was struck with the nascent idea for On the Origin of Species upon harvesting Russian bananas from his garden.

Tell me that isn't trying to become a dog.

Music of the week: in honor of the occasion, here's a hymn we had at our wedding.

That's all for today! I'll try and write a proper post next week.

Happy weekend!

  1. Who said this wasn't a proper post? Still, you did things in the proper order: Cat first, Jane Austen second, everything else after that. :)

    Happy Anniversary!!

  3. I'm sure Maia will take care of the Russian banana before it evolves any further.

    Happy anniversary!

  5. Happy (belated) anniversary, Jenna!! So glad you liked Jane--she seems to be placed on a fitting shelf. :o)

You know, there has to be something Halloween related over at The Hog's Head that we can do with your Great Pumpkin....

    1. She's definitely on a fitting shelf! Of course, I'd have placed her next to her own books, but Maia can reach that one...

The pumpkin could be our mascot! :D

It is with much regret that I've set the monster Captcha guarding the gate. There just weren't enough blasters. I'm sorry. I hate it, too.
