The Modern YA Novelist

It's Reality TV/freebie week over at The Broke and The Bookish, so I'm taking the week off to participate in another internet meme: parodying Gilbert & Sullivan's "I Am The Very Model of a Modern Major-General" from The Pirates of Penzance. (Warning: particularly vicious earworm.     This is incredible!

    Writing parodies is very challenging (so is singing MMG to speed, which I had to do for a voice class, no breathing allowed; I think I saw stars as the black closed in). So clever the way you wove in the images and comments.

    You have my absolute admiration for this gem!

      Aw, thanks. This makes me happy. :D But seriously, singing MMG with no breathing allowed? (Not that the esteemed composers left the slightest space for such little singerly necessities as air.) My hat is off to you. I don't wonder the black closed in. :P

    Well, breathing was allowed, but only after each verse, and a tiny sip it was. Especially for someone with small lung capacity. Seeing stars was a joke but hypoxia loomed!

    Did I mention that I totally agree with your parody points?
