That was an easy choice. There's something more meaningful going on with these books; I'm still thinking the first one through.Jenna St. Hilairehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04474588706124865006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22927650.post-3985357900623810112010-08-11T19:53:24.040-07:002010-08-11T19:53:24.040-07:00I do hope you continue to read the series. Althou...I do hope you continue to read the series. Although to tell you the truth I like Hunger Games much more than Catching Fire. I've read the first at least 3 times while I've only read Catching Fire once. I'm hoping to read it once again before I get the last book. Just something about the 2nd book didn't grab me as much.

I also understand the irony of the point of critiquing our obsession with violence & our voyeuristic enjoyment of it by writing a book essentially composed of those things. But I think what Collins is doing is slipping the message by us. While many people who read this think they're just being entertained, they're also being trained or tweaked to see the injustice inherent in the system, to quote Monty Python & the Holy Grail. :)Georgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16501327753737422337noreply@blogger.com
